Actor and musician, David Bowie has passed away Jan. 10 after a year and a half battle with cancer.
Announced on his official website, the excerpt reads,
“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
Bowie’s latest album, Blackstar, released on Jan. 8, 2016, the same day as his 69 birthday.
He was famous for multiple award winning albums, such as The Man Who Sold The World and Under Pressure. He is also known for his acting roles in films like Labyrinth and Twin Peaks.
His music was recently used in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, with references to songs like “Diamond Dogs” and “The Man Who Sold The World.”
