That time of the year when all the video game news comes from LA, E3. How did the conferences fair this year? Let’s take a look.
The show opened with a live performance of Just Dance 2017 dancing to Don’t Stop Me Now.
Aisha Tyler once again hosted the event, speaking on the events in Orlando and the company’s thirtieth anniversary.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands was shown first with a new CG trailer, commented by the game’s lead designer.
A live gameplay demo of the game was presented, following a team attempting an extraction at a camp.
The cooperative gameplay presentations are always cool to watch, but I can’t think of that level of coordination between any group of friends.
Ghost Recon Wildlands hits PS4 and Xbox One March 17, 2017.
South Park The Fractured But Whole was up next with the show’s creators talking about the story.
Scenes from the game’s opening and combat system were also shown off, including the new Space and Time mechanics.
The Fractured But Whole hits PS4 and Xbox One December 6.
The Division’s new DLC, the Underground, coming in June for Xbox and August for PS4, as well as the second DLC, Survival, which got a reveal trailer.
Eagle Flight took the stage with a live gameplay demo of the game, flying through a PVP battle in the skies.
Definitely one of my favorite looking VR titles, I’ll be keeping my eyes on this one.
Star Trek Bridge Crew was shown with cast members from different Star Trek series and films.
Levar Burton joined Tyler on stage to talk about his experience between the show and the VR version the bridge.
For Honor showed off a new CG trailer, along with a gameplay demo of the single player campaign.
For Honor hits PS4 and Xbox One February 14, 2017.
Grow Up, sequel to Grow Home, was shown off in a new trailer, coming this August.
Trials of the Blood Dragon was revealed in one of the best trailers for a game I think I’ve ever seen, out now.
Assassin’s Creed hit the stage next, but not in video game form, rather the upcoming film of the same name starring Michael Fassbender with the director of the film.
Watch Dogs 2 was on stage next with the game’s creative director in a live gameplay demo that was pretty sweet looking!
Playstation gamers get DLC 30 days early before releasing on other platforms.
The show closed with the reveal of Steep, a multiplayer extreme sports open world game, and a live gameplay demo.
I think the Ubisoft had one of the stronger conferences they’ve had in years, with live gameplay demos, one after another, along with games that looked very impressive.
Probably could have done without the Assassin’s Creed movie talk, but otherwise great all around!
